Overlooking the fine sands and blue seas of the beach at Porthtowan on the north coast of Cornwall.
Porthtowan is another golden sandy beach on the North Coast. During low tide Porthtowan nearly doubles in size stretching to around 1.5 miles which joins up with Chapel Porth and the cliffs of the famous Wheal Coates engine house. Porthtowan is set amongst cliffs which means theres great cover from wind along with that this beach.
About 1.2 miles west of St Agnes. Its name comes from the Cornish words ‘porth’ and ‘tewynn’ to mean Cove of Sand Dunes. Approximately three and a half miles in one direction along the coast path is the more touristy Portreath and a similar distance in the opposite direction is the tucked away beach of Chapel Porth.
